Week-end with baby: travel light!

Bebe voyageToday, I’m pleased to invite Sandrine, writer of the blog  Voyages et enfants. (Travels and children – blog in French).
In her article,  Week-end avec bébé de moins de 6 mois: voyager léger ! (week-end with an infant : travel light), she is listing the main accessories you’ll need to bring with you.

To sleep: a baby cot and his sweet blankie if your little one already has one.

Out and about: a baby carrier or stroller if you prefer.

Meal-time: mum if you’re breastfeeding or 2 bottles, 1 bottle of baby water, formula and 2 or 3 bibs.

Bathing: no need of a bath (so young, baby can bath in a washbowl), bath thermometer, soap, towel, diapers plan for 3 days if you leave 2 days, cotton…

To dress: day clothes, 2 pyjamas, 3 baby bodysuits

For health: thermometer and paracetamol

To play: rattle, pacifier, sweet blankie

The car seat will enable you to leave in it your little one from time to time.

Thus, you’ll need a medium baby bag and a big bag for you and your older one.

PS: If you’re staying in a hotel, a stroller could be welcome to enable your little one to rest while in restaurant.

Find here the full article (in French only)

PPS (added by myself): you can also rent a stroller or a cot, delivered to your place, anywhere in France ;-)

A little yellow house in the pedestrian area of Montorgueil, a cosy dining room, you’ve reached Adele’s family, bagel café and american grocery.

Enjoy fresh toasted bagels, home-made cheesecake (and other cakes) and milk-shakes.
This address is not a specifically children dedicated place, however it is certain they will enjoy their meal there.

Adele’s family is also an american grocery where you’ ll be able to find Cherrios, various peanut butter and much more.

Right now no high chair nor changing mat…but this may change

Easter holidays for families in France

I’ve invited today Jean-Marie Bonnet from Familytrip who gives us his tips for family Easter holidays in France ; what would you choose: mountain, country or sea? Here is a summary of the article, that can be read fully in French here.

Easter holidays are ideal to leave with your family: you’ll enjoy first really sunny days and attractive prices.

There’s still snow on the mountains! Skiing in Easter is possible. Largest ski resorts remain opened until April 28th : les 3 vallées, l’Espace Killy, Paradiski… Large choice of ski resorts and discounted prices.

Soft prices for seaside holidays : Corsica starts its season. About 20°C in the afternoons in Porto Vecchio. And holiday rentals are 4 to 5 time cheaper than in August. Bretain and Aquitaine seaside also offer good deals.

Good deals everywhere in France with less people and good prices.

Familytrip is the first reservation plateform for week-ends and holidays for families. Familytrip references more than 300 selected destinations. Online or phone booking (website in french).
