[store + cafe] Mombini – Paris 15th (closed)

Bad news at this address. This kid-friendly place is now closed. 🙁

The name of this store and café is a promise: mombini it’s moms + bambini (mothers + children) in Italian and in English.

And once there, this promise is 100% kept: at the entrance, a “fresh and colourful store, with cute baby gifts, elegant home decor, smart games and lots of playful accessories for the younger ones.” (it is so true, I just have to copy-paste their description 😉 ).

Going further inside, a café welcomes families with children: homemade cakes, cafe, tea, organic juices, and a play area where children can exercice while parents take a break. And of course, the place is equipped with all the necessary baby gear: highchair, bouncer, changing facilities, kid toilets, ….

mombini also organizes workshops for moms, dads and children. Whether you need to find a gift, want a new decoration set for your child room or just take a break in family-friendly place, enter mombini !

[Restaurant and Terrace] La Rotonde, Paris 19th

You’re looking for an original, unusual and welcoming place to go? Rendez-vous near to the canal St Martin, at La Rotonde, Paris 19th.

I was seduced by “le jardin” with a view of the canal and where you can drink or lunch from the comfort of the pleasant terrace. I made my way to the Food Truck for a snack : burger/french fries, with a beautiful sunshine and 2 butterflies flying around my flowered table 😉 The staff is very friendly and I could easily find a table! You can come with a stroller without disturbing the other customers and a changing mat is available in the women’s toilets.

Moreover their nice terrace, La Rotonde have an all rounded structure and offer many possibilities to the customers : restaurant (lunch and dinner), wine bar, exhibition galery, co-working and for night-owls : open-air aperitif and a mini-club where regularly inviting severals artists, open till 5.am.

[family-friendly café] Square Gardette – Paris 11th

No, I’m not talking about a public garden, but about the family-friendly cafe-restaurant that is (almost) facing it : the Square Gardette.

In the 11th arrondissement, this café and restaurant welcomes a lot of local families, especially on week-ends. A large room, tables and chairs of course, but also a “living room” with a couch.

And in the “living room”, a box of toys ready for kids to enjoy them. The place is decorated like an old appartment, with books and all kind of objects here and there (don’t miss the “storage room” …the toilets…worse the visit).

A high chair is available (but no changing facilities).

[cafe] Le Jardin du Petit Palais – Paris 8th

Even if this café is not specifically a “baby-friendly” place, it pleased us particularly by its tranquillity and its location…a pretty good address for a break while walking between la Concorde and les Champs-Elysées.

Petit Palais is the Art Museum of city of Paris. In a superb building, it hosts collections from Antiquity till begining of 20th century…and as (almost) all museums managed by the City of Paris, its entrance to permanent collections is free (entrance fees for temporary exhibitions and workshops).

Located in the heart of the building, the café Le Jardin du Petit Palais offers a large room soberly decorated.
Its menu shows drinks, light meals and snacks all day long. And, depending on the weather, you’ll be able to enjoy a table in the garden. The café does not have high chairs (but there is room enough to install the stroller next to you). No baby changing facilities neither in the museum (only a “large table” with no changing mat in the Ladies restroom on floor 0…).
